Check Your Statements

December 30, 2014: Check Your Statements

Yesterday we talked about the importance of checking your receipts. Today we want to go a step further and make sure that you review your bank and credit card statements.

You never want to assume that statements are always correct. Match them up with your receipts, especially for things like restaurants where they have to go in and manually adjust the charge after a tip is added.

You will also want to closely monitor your bank statements to watch for any fraudulent activity that could have happened over the holidays.

The sooner you catch any mistakes, the easier they are to rectify.
