April 16, 2015: Consignment Tips

It’s spring which means consignment season is upon us and I have my top tips to get top dollar today!

When it comes to selling at a consignment sale, there are some basic things you need to remember:

If possible, gather items throughout the year so you’re not scrambling the week before the sale trying to figure out what you want to keep versus what you want to sell. It helps to also collect safety pins and wire hangers from various dry cleaners throughout the year. These are items they will typically share in small quantities throughout the year for free and the LAST thing you want to spend money on at the store to cut into your profits.

And don’t worry about ironing the clothes you’re selling, but make sure they are freshly laundered, free of wrinkles and completely buttoned or zipped before dropping them off for inspection.
