July 16, 2015: Donations as Gifts

You may not feel like you have a lot of extra cash to donate, but today’s tip will not only help you help others, but you’ll feel great about it too!

With my birthday just two weeks away, several people have been asking what I want as a gift. With it being my 40th birthday, society tells me I should ask for something big, but my heart tells me something different.

In fact, I’ve decided to start telling people that if they really want to get me something meaningful, they can make a donation to a charity I love – like Operation Christmas Child – in my honor. That way, I know I’m helping to make a difference and the non-profit is being blessed beyond what I could do on my own. (And if you really want to get me something, you know I’m always looking to re-stock my supply of blue Sharpie pens 😉
