I can’t wait to attend the 58th annual (FREE!) Nashville Christmas Parade on December 3rd! It’s a Nashville tradition and sure to be a hit again this year as I just learned country radio legend, Gerry House (of the WSIX-FM hit radio show “Gerry House and the House Foundation”) will serve as the Grand Marshall.

Joined by Mayor Karl Dean and Piedmont Natural Gas’ CEO, Thomas Skains, House will lead “Home for the Holidays” parade by lighting the Christmas tree at the downtown Public Square Plaza at 7:00 p.m. and then charging down the parade’s new route on a float from 2nd Avenue and up Broadway.

I was also surprised to learn that House just announced that he’ll be ending his show on December 15th after 30 years in country radio. But this will be a way to go out with a bang! (House holds the record for the most wins of “Air Personality of the Year” by the Academy of Country Music.)

Since we just moved here last year, we weren’t able to attend the parade, but you can be sure to see the Cone family on Broadway with our bells on this year!
