April 21, 2015: Homemade Laundry Detergent

Sick of spending money on laundry detergent, only to watch it go down the drain? Then keep listening for a recipe to both clean up and save up!

We’ve been using homemade laundry detergent for years and find that not only has it saved us a lot of money, we only have to make it about twice a year.

This will also work with high efficiency machines as well because it is considered a “low-sud” option.

Laundry Detergent:
*1 bar (or 4.5 ounces) of shaved bar soap (Ivory, or Fels-Naptha)
*1 cup of borax
*1 cup of washing soda
Combine and you’re done!
—Use 1 Tbsp per load (or 2 Tbsp for heavily soiled loads).
