I hope you all caught my segment on Talk of the Town last week on Cost Effective Family Meal Planning. If not, click HERE to check it out!

This week, I’ve decided to feature some “One Dish Dinners” as highlighted on Food Network. Time saved is money saved…not to mention less time in the kitchen afterwards cleaning up! I’ve also been encouraged by Woman’s Day; every month they feature a day-by-day menu complete with shopping list. They also subscribe to what I’ve been trying to accomplish with my family: one meatless day, a day of leftovers, and turning one meal early in the week into something else later in the week. Click HERE to see their menu plan/shopping list archives.

Week of 9/14 BREAKFAST   LUNCH   DINNER
Monday Cereal & Yogurt   Dill Chicken salad with crackers   Vegetable Paella
Tuesday Fruit Oatmeal   Turkey & cheese Grilled Sandwiches   Skillet Lasagna & garlic bread
Wednesday Cereal & Yogurt   Tuna salad in tomato bowls   Steak Fajitas & refried beans
Thursday Oatmeal with honey & raisins   Veggie Pasta Salad   Carribean Rice & Peas
Friday Cereal & Yogurt   Ham & Cheese sandwich stackers   BBQ Chicken, Corn & Asparagus Salad, Homemade Mac & cheese
Saturday Biscuits & Eggs   Leftovers   Baked Potato Soup & Wheat rolls
Sunday French Crepes with berries   BLT’s & Chips   Fish Tacos with pico

*P.S. Crepes have always been what I’ve known as pancakes. My mom’s from England and she taught me her recipe from an early age, but it’s always been hard for me to write it down for someone else! I think Alton Brown’s recipe above comes pretty close!
