August 27, 2015: Should You Consign?
Consignment sales can be a great place to score good deals, but how do you know if it’s worth consigning your own merchandise?
Before consigning, consider how much time and energy it will take to prepare what it is you have to consign versus how much you could potentially make.
You also have to decide whether you want to sell at a standard consignment shop or at a seasonal sale that a school or church may host.
And don’t forget to gather all the details about fees charged, percentage of the sale you get to keep and what happens to your items if they don’t sell.
Since most consignment sales revolve around children’s clothes and items, enlist your kids to help you hang, tag and clean – you can even promise them a cut of any items they willingly put in!
