I guess I’m officially a swim mom, but thankfully today I’ve found a fun & educational way to stay cool indoors with the kids…

IN MY LIFE:
* Sorry I couldn’t make it to you yesterday, but I was up quite early for a summer morning and spent all day at swim meets. Because of my kids age right now, one competes in the morning meet and the other in the afternoon meet. Since I missed last week’s first meet because I was at a conference, I didn’t want to be on my phone trying to tell you about my life instead of actually living my life.

Today, my daughter is babysitting…yes, babysitting! She’s at the age where she can start being a mother’s helper (with said mother still in the house), and start earning some money of her own. Crazy, right?

After burning up all day yesterday, we decided it was time to cool off and reconnect with some old friends. So the kids and I are meeting up with @suburbanturmoil and her kids at the Adventure Science Center. We ran into each other at Beauty & the Beast when it was at @TPAC this month and wanted to get together since our kids are about the same age. But that can be tricky with tweens – so we put our heads together and realized the Adventure Science Center here in Nashville would be a great place to both stay cool AND have great activities the kids could focus on. Let’s face it, tweens are not known for their deep conversations, so being able to play and learn together is the perfect solution for bringing these old friends back together on common ground.
