When XFINITY reached out to several Nashville bloggers to partner with for this program, I was honored to be included because of our experience you’ll hear about below. As part of this program, I received compensation for my time. I’m already an XFINITY customer and they did not tell me to purchase any of their products. XFINITY believes that consumers and bloggers are free to form their own opinions and share them in their own words. Last month I told you about why our family on the go loves XFINITY, but what about when we’re at home?

Keeping the kids entertained is one thing, but ensuring their safety is the priority – and that includes what they’re watching on TV.

When they were little, we didn’t even let the kids watch regular TV; we felt confident we could control what they watched and avoid compromising commercials by only showing them DVDs.

But that was a long time ago.
They’ve grown up and times (and technology) have changed.

So it’s yet another reason why we turn to XFINITY for our family home entertainment. With the X1 operating system from XFINITY, we have tons of kid-friendly features that Google Fiber doesn’t offer, including Kids Zone, Playlists and even some fun Easter Eggs from the Voice Remote that your kids will love!

Funny story: the first time my kids took over the remote, I learned about the Kids Zone quickly. When they are within the Kids Zone, they can’t access programming above their age limit if you don’t want them to. In fact, I couldn’t even figure out how to access my shows! That tells me XFINITY cares about my kids – maybe not as much as I do, but they care 😉

To be specific, Kids Zone is a special section of X1 designed totally for kids. It’s got all their favorite TV shows, but it doesn’t stop there – XFINITY Kids Zone includes movies, TV shows, your DVRed recordings and even On Demand choices. It gives your kids the options to be independent and watch what they want while disabling certain features like channel up/down and the ability to purchase or rent programming so they don’t stumble across inappropriate programming. The fun interface, designed with kids in mind, is something Google Fiber doesn’t offer.

Now if you wanted to take it a step further, the Voice Remote from XFINITY lets your kids have fun trying out their favorite movie quotes and finding their shows by topic. The Voice Remote is only available from XFINITY – Google Fiber can’t put your shows in front of you just by speaking!

So whether your kids love watching Disney Junior or catching up on all the episodes of LEGO Ninjago they missed while they were at school, Kids Zone has them covered.

My kids are outside playing with friends right now, but I know when they come inside later and the adults are all watching the Super Bowl, I won’t have to worry about what the kids are watching on the TV downstairs. Can you say the same thing?
