Why Our On the Go Family Needs XFINITY

When XFINITY reached out to several Nashville bloggers to partner with for this program, I was honored to be included because of our experience you’ll hear about below. As part of this program, I received compensation for my time. I’m already an XFINITY customer and they did not tell me to purchase any of their products. XFINITY believes that consumers and bloggers are free to form their own opinions and share them in their own words. XFINITY’s policies align with WOMMA Ethics Code, FTC guidelines and social media engagement recommendations.

I wouldn’t say our family looks for change per se, but it does happen to find us quite a bit! And when it does, I always embrace the opportunity to review our current state of affairs.

So when our family moved just a few months ago, I reviewed everything we were currently customers of, from insurance to cable.

While we’d been XFINITY customers since moving to Nashville seven years ago, I’d heard about Google Fiber coming to town and wanted to check it out. I knew it wasn’t available in the suburb we had been living in, but knew it would become available to me once moving back into the city.

Naturally I was interested to see what they were offering. But after doing some research, the decision became clear to me.

New doesn’t always mean better.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Google and its apps on my computer – in fact many of them are open now as I write this. But when it came to finding the right fit for our home, phone, internet & TV needs for our family, we chose XFINITY.

You see, there’s one aspect of XFINITY that we’ve truly come to depend upon as a family, and that’s XFINITY’s ability to stream every channel in every room.

Yes, I said EVERY.

That means we could all be sitting in the exact same room while watching different things on each of our individual devices (thought not what I’d recommend for a stellar family bonding time, but helpful if someone absolutely HAS to watch that playoff game while the kids would rather catch up on episodes of their favorite Ninjago series that they missed since returning to school). OR, you can each have your own viewing experience while in different rooms.

As you know, I work from home a lot and find I get more work done in my dedicated home office. However, there’s not a TV in there and I LOVE to have background noise on while I work. But not just any background noise…I’m particular to reality series like Top Chef or Project Runway that I can play on my iPad next to me on my desk without feeling like I have to be glued to the screen every single second.

And let’s face it, as a former pageant queen, I can’t help but watch when Ms. Universe and Ms. America comes on, but no-one else in the house really cares about whether or not one state or another ends up in the top 10.

Again, thank you XFINITY.

Because thanks to their XFINITY TV app, I can not only watch what I want when I want where I want in my own home, but it comes with me everywhere I go…much like this little episode when my husband tortured me by taking us to a home furnishings store when The U.S. Open was on…the horror! But thanks to my XFINITY TV app and a shopping cart, it was just like sitting amongst the night crowd in Flushing Meadows (well, that might be stretching it a bit, but at least I got to watch it live).

So what should you do?

Ultimately, that’s up to you. If you aren’t an XFINITY customer yet, I’d encourage you to check out everything they offer (just a portion of which I outlined above, but will be exploring more over the coming months). However, if you are already an XFINITY customer, I’d encourage you to “think before you switch” – simply put, there are a lot of features that XFINITY offers that Google Fiber can’t.

As for me, I have to run: I need to catch up on the Project Runway Junior episode I missed last night…
