IN THE NEWS:

  • Bennifer currently on their honeymoon
  • Jeopardy now has 2 permanent co-hosts
  • National Milk Chocolate Day

IN THE WORD:

Am I willing to reduce myself down to simply “me”? – Oswald Chambers

IN MY LIFE:

I’ve been dreaming of seeing Hamilton Live for years and last night, that dream came true. I studied the original cast when they performed at the White House. I’ve listened to the entire soundtrack over and over again. I streamed the full show on Disney+. And before that was possible, I even watched as much as I could on YouTube.

I have only two complaints about my Nashville Hamilton experience:
1) It took me a little while to get used to the new cast because I’d only ever heard the original cast recordings
2) I wasn’t able to sing along with the entire show 🙂

I will say that there were a lot of us in the audience cheering along throughout the show. And to my first point, several of us felt that this version of Alexander Hamilton had a superior voice to Lin Manuel Miranda.

I hesitate to say more about the cast because there were so many replacements in the Nashville show I attended. Besides the lead, we also saw cast changes for Eliza, King George and several others. Even with the last minute swaps, everyone was so talented.

Honestly, these were some of the best singers and dancers I’ve experienced for a cast of any Broadway touring show. The characters that needed to use a British or French accent struggled a bit, but all their singing voices were excellent.

Which Hamilton Tour is in Nashville in 2022?
I recently learned that in addition to Hamilton on Broadway, there are three Hamilton tours. Another fun fact is that each Hamilton touring company is named after a different Schuyler sister: Angelica, Eliza & Peggy. The Angelica tour will perform at TPAC In Nashville.

Hamilton Nashville will be performed at TPAC now through August 7, 2022. I’m grateful to TPAC for hosting us. Tickets are hard to come by, but it’w definitely worth attending live if you can still get in.

PRAYER FOCUS: Faith

My prayer for all of us today is that we have a little more faith: in God, in each other and in ourselves.
