If there was ever a day to honor orphans and widows, this is it – and I’m showing you how…

Honoring Widows & Orphans {The Daily Dash: January 27, 2021}

IN THE NEWS:

  • Paris’ mayor facing fine for putting too many females in top jobs
  • Deadly tornado tore through Alabama
  • Pepsi & Beyond Meat teaming up to create more plant-based snacks
  • International Holocaust Remembrance Day & National Chocolate Cake Day

IN THE WORD:

No matter how many things seem to be pressing in on you, be determined to push them aside and look to God ~ Oswald Chambers

IN MY LIFE:

Because today is January 27, it’s James 1:27 day. That means today is all about honoring orphans and widows all over the globe.

The calling of James 1:27 is at the heart of one of my favorite ministries, Both Hands. Both Hands helps families raise funds for adoptions by serving widows.

If you are looking for a few ways to make this your mission today as well, here are a few practical ideas:

  • Set aside time to pray for orphans and widows across the world.
  • Support or volunteer with organizations that serve these populations.
  • Listen to the stories of the widowed and the orphaned in your community.
  • Create awareness for the causes of orphans and widows by sharing James 1:27 Day with others.

Both Hands created a helpful toolkit if you want to help spread the word on social media too.

PRAYER FOCUS: Self Discipline

I pray self-discipline over each of us today, that we would have the will and determination to overcome temptation and stay focused on our ultimate goal.

Stay in the know on the go:
