It’s National Streaming Day and I’m sharing what I learned about context this weekend…

IN MY LIFE:
It’s always interesting to me when both churches I go to in one weekend preach on a similar message. This weekend, even though both preached from different passages in Ephesians, they both shared the importance of context.
For example, the subheading above Ephesians 5:22 in many Bibles says “Instructions for Christian Households,” but that’s not what would have been in the original text.
It’s often been translated that men should love their wives and women should respect their husbands. In reality, it’s all an example of how Christ loved the church and how we should all love and mutually submit to each other within relationships.
