IN MY LIFE:
We lost a great man today in Billy Graham. I honestly never attended one of his events or even heard him preach, as my parents were not part of the church in his heyday. However, for me, he has always been the picture of a flawed man saved by the grace of Jesus Christ and committed to sharing the good news of the gospel with others.
So, in case you don’t already know, I am a Christian, which means I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Coming to truly know Christ in my twenties, I can say I’m not a fan of religion, but I do believe in God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. It is not my place to judge or condemn, but to love. That being said, I hold myself to a moral standard – not a moral law – set forth by Christ and not by man. There have been many heinous acts committed in the world in the name of religion; instead, I suggest we unify and live by the Golden Rule.
If you don’t know God or understand how God could love you or even allow certain things to happen in the world, I suggest you ask Him yourself before you listen to others. I never understood or heard Him until I got alone, quieted myself and asked with an anticipation and expectation to hear from God. I pray each of you experience the same peace that surpasses understanding by knowing who holds your future.
