September 29, 2015: Bagged Produce
Just because there are rarely coupons for fresh produce doesn’t mean there isn’t a trick to save on fruits and veggies…
One of the biggest reasons I hear as to why people don’t use coupons is because you can never find them for fresh produce.
However, there is a simple way to always save your fruits and vegetables: buy them in a bag.
You will always find a cheaper unit price when you buy bagged produce versus when you buy it individually. I’m talking about things like apples, potatoes, onions and citrus – things that you were most likely already using multiples of anyway.
And if you want to save even more, count how many units there are in each bag. Because they are sold by weight, you will often find a different number in each and you’ll be able to get more for your money.
