Buying Generic

September 9, 2015: Buying Generic

Is generic really worth it? We’re about to find out…

At first glance, a generic or store brand may appear cheaper. And if you’re not shopping with coupons, this may be your best option to save money at the grocery or drugstore.

But if you can clip a coupon and apply it to the name brand, you’ll often save 50% or more! And if your store doubles coupons, you could end up with that very same item for free!

If you haven’t started clipping coupons yet, switching to generic brands can be a good option to jumpstart your savings, but even using just a few coupons on brands you buy frequently can drastically reduce your monthly grocery bill.
