Please tell me I wasn’t the only one crying last night every time one of these precious children misspelled a word during the National Spelling Bee! I’m not even going to get into a discussion about whether or not it should air on ESPN, but for whatever reason, it captivates me every year.
Last night, the spellers (who started the first rounds at 10:30am) spelled past midnight. Due to the unusually competitive group, officials made the decision to call any speller who made it through Round 20 a “Co-Champion”. Do you know how many successfully earned that title? 8!!! It was truly incredible.
