IN MY LIFE

* We literally spent all weekend at the pool-the kids participated in their first city swim meet and my husband and I served as clerk of course for the meet yesterday. It was quite chaotic, but also quite an experience for them and now that they have seen the end goal, I think it puts their entire swim experience in perspective. It also makes me want to be even more village and for my son in particular to make sure he turns into a teenager that others want to be around and not run away from.

I also wanted to share a PSA: if you follow me and Instagram, you may have seen me share that I was cooking my very first “beer can chicken” on the grill (although it was with a Coke 😉 about 45 minutes into cooking, I went out and found the grill had gone off. So I turned the propane up and reignited a burner, want to huge fireball came upon me. Luckily, I did not get burned, but lost hair on my arms face and head. As someone new to grilling, I really didn’t know what I was doing and should’ve stopped to ask for research first. In retrospect, I learned I should have shut everything off and restarted from scratch. I count myself very lucky that nothing else went wrong and that I didn’t catch our deck on fire, so hopefully you all can benefit from my mistakes.
