What Piece Brings Peace {Daily Dash: July 6, 2026}

I woke up this morning with a wordplay on my mind: “The peace of home feels like a piano”, but also, “The piano feels like a piece of home”.

IN MY LIFE:

Honestly, neither sentence above really made complete sense to me (maybe it’s meant for one of you!) But it did harken back to another vision I had YEARS ago.

Regardless of meaning, it did make me ponder how often we allow a piece of something to determine our peace, instead of focusing on the whole. Yet at the same time, our peace can come from not knowing the whole picture in front of us, but by walking in and working out our faith while moving toward what we do know to be true.

IN THE NEWS:

  • Several former UNC basketball players are in NBA Summer League action, including Caleb Wilson, RJ Davis, Drake Powell, Seth Trimble, and Leaky Black.
  • NASA says July is a great month for skywatching, with a Moon-and-planets meetup, a returning comet, Milky Way viewing, and Saturn’s rings on display.
  • Today is National Fried Chicken Day, and birthdays include Kevin Hart, 50 Cent, Tia Mowry, Sylvester Stallone, and George W. Bush.

IN THE WORD:

“The mountaintop is not meant to teach us anything; it is meant to make us something.” – Oswald Chambers

PRAYER FOCUS: Peace

Lord, help us feel an unimaginable peace in the midst of the unknown.
