The Daily Dash: June 14, 2017 {National Tragedy #Alexandria}
IN THE NEWS:
* Gunman opened fire on Republican Congressmen on baseball field in Alexandria, VA practicing for annual fundraiser. Steve Scalise from LA was shot in the hip, as were several others, including staffers and Capitol Police. Thanks to the CP, a larger tragedy was averted.
* It appears there is also an active shooting situation in San Francisco as well
IN THE WORD:

All that’s been on the news today has been the above-mentioned shooting. It reminds us that we can never be too careful, but that we also cannot stop living our lives.
My larger concern is how to talk to and educate our children on such situations. As a Christian, we believe and live in the fact that God is ultimately in control, yet that does not relieve us from living with common sense, as well as courtesy.
As today is a busy work day for me and my children are in different places, I’m stopping to pray for not only my family, but all the families affected by the tragedies we’re hearing about today.
If I could offer one piece of practical advice, it would be to write a letter to someone you don’t know who’s experiencing loss, whether the family of a congressman, or someone you’ve heard about on Facebook going through a tough time. You may never know what that simple act means to them.
