IN MY LIFE:
As I was reading “My Utmost for HIs Highest” yesterday, I was reminded of an important milestone: several years ago, I was diagnosed with clinical depression.

I hesitate even saying this because I dislike labels, yet it’s important to recognize what we are going through so we can overcome it. I still remember walking into the counselor’s office and saying, “I imagine this is what being depressed must feel like”, to which he responded, “that’s because you’re clinically depressed”.

Depression can feel like a big, black pit and the enemy of our souls will try to feed you lies. If you feel alone or depressed – or struggle with anxiety, it’s important to reach out for help, first in prayer and then to your family and closest friends. A good counselor can also be valuable in helping you sort truth from lies, in your head and in your life.

PRAYER FOCUS: Dedicated
As I just learned about a new outreach opportunity (that I’ll tell you more about soon), I’m reminded even more how important it is to be dedicated in all we do, giving ourselves wholly to a cause.
