The Daily Dash: March 14 2016 {#PiDay}

* Amtrack train derails in Kansas
* March Madness selection
* Donald Trump accused of encouraging violence amongst supporters
* Flooding continues in South

* We watch some incredible movies this weekend. As my kids are in their tweens, I’m finding that watching age-appropriate films, especially with a historical component, has been very valuable for starting deep discussions with them.

Watched Bridge of Spies, Forrest Gump and the Blind Side this weekend and not only were they great lessons to learn, but especially with my mom in town, we were able to give them a different glimpse into history that they hadn’t previously understood or grasped fully.

Today is also national Pi Day, so a lot of restaurant chains like O’Charley’s and Blaze pizza are offering freebies and deals on things like pie and pizza, so be on the lookout for that.
