IN MY LIFE:

Not only is it opening day for major-league baseball, but it is our son’s first ever track meet. Yes, we made him run track even though he had no desire to do so or any previous experience.

In research I’ve done, as well as first-hand experience from friends, I have learned that having teenage boys get their energy out during the day helps on a number of levels, including better sleep and better ability to focus.

The added bonus of him running track is that we LITERALLY do not care how he performs at meets. Sure we want him to respect his coach and teammates, and try hard of course, but we’re just proud of him for doing it. That means no additional pressure or stress. It’s a win-win.

I’m not saying this is a cure all for everything, but it’s certainly helped our family.

PRAYER FOCUS: Harmony
May we all live in harmony with those around us today (even if they’re cheering for the opposing team!)
