OTC Savings

December 30, 2015: OTC Savings

I’ve told you before that I don’t turn to medicine as my first resort when I get sick, but there comes a time when we all need to go to the doctor. And on a recent trip, my doctor confirmed what I suspected for a while: many companies overcharge for brand name over-the-counter medicine.

Her tip? Look to the right and find the generic and compare active ingredients. They are most likely exactly the same at a fraction of the cost.

And if there are certain over-the-counter medicines that you use frequently, like for headache or allergy relief, visit a membership club like Sam’s or Costco to really amp up your savings.
