IN MY LIFE:

I was feeling a bit nostalgic yesterday and missing my dad. As you know, I love Jesus now, but I grew up in a religiously mixed home with my dad being a 1st generation American Jew and my British mom who grew up COE.

As such, I celebrated most of the major holidays, including Passover and Easter. While I didn’t feel like I’d be able to pull of a traditional Seder last night for the first night of Passover, I did want to teach my kids more about the holiday and why it’s celebrated.

In doing so, I found a very entertaining video featuring Mayim Bialik (and aptly sponsored by Manishevitz), as well as some catchy versions of the 4 Questions and everyone’s favorite Passover song, Dayenu.

Typically my kids roll their eyes in these circumstances, but for whatever reason, my daughter couldn’t get enough. Literally. I can’t tell you how many times she played Dayenu over and over…

I honestly got teary thinking about how my dad would get such a kick out of the scene (and the fact that we all woke up singing it again this morning because we couldn’t get it out of our heads!).

Whatever you celebrate, I know this week is special and holy, for different reasons, to so many of us in the world. I’m just glad we could stop in the midst of what we were doing last night to reconnect to our roots in a new way.

Remember, the ABLE WAREHOUSE SALE is still going on, plus they added new items to the sale today.

PRAYER FOCUS: Respect
After several long talks with my kids yesterday, I pray respect over each of your homes today. Even when we don’t agree with each other, we can respect one another.
