If you want to see a new movie this weekend, I’m giving you my honest thoughts about Argylle the movie…
Honest Argylle Movie Review {Daily Dash: February 2, 2024}
IN MY LIFE:
was basically:
“This movie is what would happen if ‘Austin Powers’ and ‘Elf’ had a baby.”
It’s witty, kitschy, and makes fun of itself, but not in an over the top, unbelievable, too spoofy kind of way. It’s very quick-witted and takes all the best elements of spy movies and Agatha Christie books that you love and puts it into one film.
There are cameos galore too! You’ll see Sam Rockwell, Henry Cavill, Dua Lipa, Jon Cena, Ariana DeBose, Catherine O’Hara, and Bryan Cranston (whose name I couldn’t remember to save my life during my filming!). And the star of the entire film, Bryce Dallas Howard, is absolutely incredible in it!
If I had to give one critique, it was a little long. They could have still communicated what they needed to with about 20 minutes less.
It crosses a lot of genres and I think it will appeal to a wide array of audiences. Argylle is available to watch in theaters starting today, February 2.
