March 9, 2015: Grocery Shop After Breakfast

I’m about to tell you the best time of the day to do your grocery shopping…

Come on, we’ve all been there. We are walking to the grocery store and can’t help but open that bag of chips for polishing off the fresh donuts from the bakery before we ever reach check out.

No, just me?

Either way, I think it’s safe to say that we all know it’s dangerous to go grocery shopping when you’re hungry.

Studies have shown that you’re not only likely to spend more when you go grocery shopping anytime between 3 to 6 PM, that infamous snack and dinner hour, but you’re also more likely to bring home foods that are bad for you that you really don’t need.

Instead, start doing your grocery shopping after breakfast. Not only is it one of the least busy times of day, allowing you to get in and out faster and maximizing your time, but you’ll be less likely to buy those snack foods you might be craving later on in the day.
