IN MY LIFE:
December is here! I can’t believe all that’s happened already. We’ve had basketball games, church Christmas parties, performances, and concerts, just to name a few. In fact, I don’t think we sat at home much this weekend.
But all this running around comes at a price. The kids are both home sick today and I’m keeping a box of Kleenex close by. I’m so proud of how healthy I’ve been the past couple months, but the crud has caught up with me. Here’s hoping we all get feeling better soon.
In honor of my father and our ancestry, it’s also important to point out that Hanukkah began last night and will last for 8 nights through December 10. If you don’t know, my full name is “Samara” which means, “guarded by God” in Hebrew. Though I never celebrated my bat-mitzvah, I did celebrate Hanukkah growing up and continue to share the tradition with my own children. Yes, I love me some Jesus, but if you look deep within different faiths, just like different people, you’ll always find commonalities to focus on rather than our differences.
