IN MY LIFE:

I don’t know if any movie can compare to the original Knives Out. Not knowing what to expect, it quickly became a favorite movie in our family. So when we heard a sequel was in the works, the anticipation spread rapidly.

The wait is now over! Glass Onion, a Knives Out mystery is now in theaters. Bottom line: it’s worth your time.

First of all, think of it like a James Bond or Hercule Poirot type story where the lead remains the same but the characters and circumstances differ.

Second of all, there are a TON of fun cameos, including Angela Landsbury, Kareem Abdul Jabar, Hugh Grant, Natasha Leone, and several others.

Third of all, it takes place during lockdown, so it was interesting to see that reflected in film. Sometimes it’s hard to believe something really happened until you see it take place in popular culture.

Most of all, the film is made up of great characters with a variety of talented actors bringing those characters to life.

And now, my honest Glass Onion review. Did I like it as much as the original? No. Did I enjoy myself? Definitely. The thing that we found with the first film that held true with Glass Onion is that it appeals to a wide demographic. Perhaps it’s because so many of us like a good “whodunnit” or because the actors cover a spread of generations and genres. Either way, everyone has found something they like about the films.

In my video review, I share more, along with the box I received from the studio for awards season.

PRAYER FOCUS: Justice

I pray we measure others in the same way we hope they measure us, giving strength and dignity to each individual’s story.
