Coming home from Bella’s birthday party tonight, the kids wanted me to turn the lights on inside the car so they could compare treat bags.
I explained I couldn’t because it was a dark, farm road with a ditch on the side that we could run into if I was distracted by the light. Here is the conversation that followed:
Britton: “You could just use your cell phone to call someone to get out of the ditch”
Me: “It’s not that easy – we could die if our car fell into the ditch”
Britton: “Then I hope we die fast so we can get to heaven fast”
Kariss: “I don’t want to die yet. I’m not ready to go to heaven yet. I want to stay down here for a little while longer.”
And to think, I almost made them go to sleep on the ride home 🙂
