It’s another snow day and I’ve reached a milestone…

The Daily Dash: January 17, 2018 {My Half Birthday}

* 3 Times as many cases of the flu reported this year
* Kim & Kayne welcome a baby girl to their family through a surrogate
* Dangerous winter storm impacts 54 million people from Texas to Maine

True surrender will always go beyond natural devotion – Oswald Chambers

Between some more flurries and temperatures hitting zero, Nashville once again has a snow day; at this point, the kids have been out of school more than they’ve been in school this year! While I LOVE the snow, and playing with the kids in it, snow days always bring up some difficult emotions for me as a work-at-home mom. I spoke about it on Instagram late last night, in case you may experience something similar:

Even though we’re losing track of our days a little bit, I was reminded that today is my half-birthday! While that doesn’t mean any additional gifts in our family, half-birthdays are typically a time of extra love and the celebrant getting to choose where to eat out that night (or request a special home-cooked meal). I’m not sure I’ll be invoking that right since we may not want to brave the roads tonight, but I will take the extra hugs from my kids!
