IN MY LIFE:
My son and I were treated to a preview of the new Star Wars Movie: Solo. I don’t envy the teams putting together the new movies in this franchise (especially the stand-alones), but they got it right with this one.
To be honest, it reminded me of a good Avengers film where there were nods to the other movies, staying true to what’s come before, but the new story could also stand on its own legs…of course paired with the Han Solo wit and charm we’ve all come to love and expect.
Now don’t get me started on whether it’s completely accurate or not: I’m not an expert in Star Wars lore, simply a fan looking for a great movie to watch with my tweens/teens, and this was it. It just goes to prove Hollywood can still create great entertainment without resorting to cursing and sex. (Thanks, Ron Howard!). The movie opens everywhere on Friday.
