I’ve been asked to speak on this inaugural cruise…

The Daily Dash: September 10, 2018 {Permission to Hustle Retreat – Day 1}

IN THE NEWS:
* Serena Williams lost to Naomi Osaka in US Open final (& fined $17k!)
* Djokovic beat del Potro in Men’s Final and now ties Pete Sampras with 14 Grand Slam victories (3rd most of all time after Federer & Nadal)
* Hurricane Florence gaining strength and targeting the US East Coast
* CBS Chief Les Moonves steps down amidst sexual allegations
* SpaceX launches 16th rocket of the year
* National Boss/Employee Exchange Day

IN THE WORD:
Faith is absolute truest in God-trust that could never imagine that He would forsake us ~ Oswald Chambers

IN MY LIFE:
A lot has happened (& is happening!) since I last saw you!

First of all, we were GLUED to the US Open finals this weekend, particularly the women’s final on Saturday afternoon. It wasn’t just that Serena Williams lost, it was that the violations and fines not only seemed extreme, it actually ended up taking away from Osaka’s first Grand Slam win (I’m happy to elaborate on my thoughts on this, but that may be better suited for ESPN instead of my Daily Dash ?).

Second, I’m crafting today’s episode from a plane because I’m headed to Tampa to embark upon the Carnival Paradise for the next six days for the inaugural Permission to Hustle Retreat. This is the brainchild of the powerhouse duo of Audrey McClelland & Vera Sweeney, who handpicked 40 top female influencers to participate in this mastermind event in conjunction with Carnival Cruise. I’ll be speaking on how to go from “Blog to Broadcast”, helping these women extend their influence beyond their blogs and social media.

While the cruise sessions won’t be filmed or re-broadcast, you can follow along with the fun and wisdom being shared at the hashtag #PTHCarnival.

I’m also excited because I’ll get the chance to visit with my sorority big sister before getting on the ship. Even though we haven’t seen each other in about 20 years, I’m grateful for relationships like these that you can pick right back up where we left off. (& because I know someone will ask: I was a member of Delta Delta Sorority at Emory University, serving as Vice-President my senior year).

PRAYER FOCUS: Initiative
As much as I love the opportunity to work and mentor others, I’m going to miss my family this week. I pray that my kids, in particular, are able to take initiative in all they do while I’m gone, and I pray the same over you today.
