It could have been a lot worse…

The Daily Dash: September 11, 2017 {Surviving #HurricaneIrma & #NeverForget}

* Hurricane Irma made landfall and left nearly 5 million Floridians without power
* 16th anniversary of 9/11 tragedy
* Sloane Stephens beat fellow American Madison Keys to win the U.S. Open women’s title, while Rafael Nadal won the men’s title on Sunday – his 16th Grand Slam title.

It is the work that God does through us that counts, not what we do for Him- Oswald Chambers

I’m not going to lie, as a former Florida resident, I spent countless hours in front of the TV watching reports on the Weather Channel this weekend, especially since almost ALL of our family and so many friends still live in South Florida, including our moms. Thankfully, while there seem to be many downed trees and lots of power outages, everyone is safe.

Ironically, it was a beautiful fall-like weekend here in Nashville where we did everything from have a bonfire and cookout with friends to begin the flag-football season for the kids. Speaking of kids, K won her volleyball game on Friday night and begins youth orchestra rehearsal tonight. Now we just have to hope (now) Tropical Storm Irma doesn’t come our way tomorrow!
