On this month’s show, we’re exploring different aspects of love, including how to practically demonstrate love to those in need, where to go in Nashville with those you love and also how to embrace love ourselves.

I start by talking to the author of “Praying with our Feet” to learn how we can better help the unhoused. Next I’ll consult with a legendary financial therapist and coach to uncover how women can rewire their brains for wealth.

Then we’ll visit the inaugural Winterfest at Gaylord Opryland Resort for an insider’s look at their FREE Fire & Ice Skating Show. Finally, I’ll introduce you to some of the sweetest swimmers in Nashville and tell you how you can help their cause.

So get ready to open your heart and mind for the February 2021 episode of The Sami Cone Show…

Episode 18 of The Sami Cone Show aired on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 1 PM, and re-aired on Saturday, February 13 at Noon. Scroll to the bottom of the post to watch the show in its entirety.

Praying with Our Feet: Interview with Lindsey Krinks

I’ve always had a heart for our unhoused friends. Since moving to Nashville, we have often volunteered with Open Table of Nashville as a family to help our neighbors in any way we can.

The organization’s co-founder, Lindsey Krinks, just released her first book, “Praying with Our Feet“. I got to interview Lindsey about how we can help, common misconceptions, and what she wishes people knew.

Rewire for Wealth: Author Interview with Barbara Huson

When I learned legendary financial analyst and coach, Barbara Huson (daughter of H&R Block co-founder) wrote a new book with the subtitle “Three Steps Any Woman Can Take to Program Her Brain for Financial Success”, I knew I had to have her on the show.

It’s one thing for me to help you save money, but it takes a true reboot to help you believe your true earning potential…and Barbara helps us do exactly that!

Gaylord Opryland Winterfest: Fire & Ice Skating Show

I’m thrilled to introduce you to an inaugural event at Gaylord Opryland Resort: Winterfest. Whether you missed the winter festivities during the holiday season or simply want to extend the fun, Winterfest is for you!

Watch my interview on the ice with two of the professional skaters featured in the FREE Fire & Ice skating show. Plus, I learn some skating tricks myself (& tell you how you can get skating lessons at Opryland this season).

Nashville Dolphins Fundraiser

The Nashville Dolphins is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that provides year-round swim instruction, training, competition, and social activities at no cost to children and adults with disabilities.

Watch my interview with their Executive Director, Brenda Vroon, to discover how you can help this amazing organization and win a TESLA for yourself (yes, an actual TESLA!).

Before I Go, I Need You to Know: Love Knows No Fear

As I reflect back over our time with my guests today, I see brave, fearless and compassionate women. Yet deep down, I know they have all experienced scary moments to get to the places they are today.

If they had listened to fear instead of stepping out in faith, the world may never have benefitted from their calling and capabilities. Yet here they all are, now able to help us step into the lives we were made for.

I teach my students that it’s OK to be nervous; that just shows you care. But what’s not OK is to let fear permeate our spirit and paralyze us.

1 John 4:18 reminds us that, “there is no fear in love. Perfect love casts out fear…”

The creator of perfect love is God, who is also the author of wisdom. As I thought about these two characteristics side by side, James 3:17 popped into my head:

“The wisdom that comes from God is first of all pure, then peaceful, gentle, and easy to please. This wisdom is always ready to help those who are troubled and to do good for others. It is always fair and honest.”

So as we prepare to celebrate Valentine’s Day, let’s rethink HOW we define love. Perhaps the most loving thing we could do, both for ourselves and others, is to take that step of faith we’ve been putting off and see where it leads us. After all, it’s impossible to give away what we don’t first possess.
