I just had two small cysts removed from my back and it’s taking a lot for me to sit still and keep the stitches in tact…

IN MY LIFE:

Yesterday I did something I’d been putting off for a long time. A few years, a few years ago, I discovered two small bumps on my back, right in between my shoulder blades.

I thought they were pimples (& honestly, they may have started out that way). But because of their location, there wasn’t anything I could do about them. I also was without health insurance for awhile, so that kept me from digging deeper (pun intended).

Fast forward to this year when I discovered they were actually cysts that needed to be cut out. The dermatologist said they could have been pimples that experienced “trauma”. When that’s the case, they basically form a wall, keeping anything from getting out or in.

So yesterday I went under the knife. While you know I love watching blackhead extraction videos, I’m not one to watch Dr. Pimple Popper. But that’s essentially what I experienced.

Frankly, I was surprised how large the cysts. They were barely protruding from my back, but evidently they went quite deep. I’ll spare you from the picture, but you know I had to personally inspect them once they were removed🙂

My advice, don’t overreact just because something is abnormal, but don’t prolong getting yourself examined by a professional if something doesn’t look or feel right.

In the meantime, please pray I can stay still enough for two weeks so I don’t rip out these stitches!

PRAYER FOCUS: Respect

When you respect your body, it loves you back. I pray we all have enough respect for ourselves to listen to our body, while also respecting the professionals who help us care for ourselves and feel our best.
