The Macy’s One Day Sale August 2020 can technically be called a 48-hour sale. The One Day Sale is coming up and I have all the details on the current Macy’s Savings Pass valid now…

Macy’s One Day Sale August 2020

The Macy’s One Day Sale just happened this weekend, Friday, August 7th – Sunday, August 9th. The Macy’s One Day Sale before that one was Friday, July 17, 2020 – Saturday, July 18, 2020. (Do you think they had it in honor of my birthday?). The current sale is their Men’s 2 Day Sale where you can take an extra 40-60% off your purchase.

The past One Day Sale was June 26-28, 2020. Before that, we had an ODS on March 13th-15th. February marked their Valentine’s One Day Sale, which was February 8th with it’s preview day February 7th. They also started the New Year right on January 3-4, 2020 so we could put all those Macy’s gift cards you received to good use!

It seems like the last Macy’s One Day Sale before that happened a while ago – Tuesday, December 17 through Wednesday, December 18. History repeated itself because we saw multiple One Day Sales in December this year like last year. While we didn’t see a third December One Day Sale, I’m happy we get another sale right at the beginning of January.

The early December Macy’s One Day Sale happened December 10-11. Before that there was one November 18-20. It’s surprising we’re getting two in one month because before that, it happened August 9th-10th.  The one before that was the June sale (June 22nd with its preview day June 21st). The May sale was May 17-18.

Instead of a One Day Sale in March and April, Macy’s had their 48-hour sale. The last One Day sale before that happened February 8-9, 2019. The January One Day Sale was Wednesday, January 5, with its preview day January 4.

We can no longer assume Macy’s will have a One Day Sale each month. It was surprising that there wasn’t a One Day Sale in July (since Macy’s usually has them about once a month).  Interestingly enough, it seems the fall Macy’s One Day Sale happened at the same time as their back to school sale. This is when they also offered 25% off Nike. During this One Day Sale, you’ll be able to save 25% off both Nike & Under Armour for the family.

And if I’m being honest, with the way Macy’s has been shaking up their One Day Sales lately, we don’t know if there will be one each month. This is why it’s surprising they had two One Day Sales in December. The Difference Between Macy’s One Day Sale & the Preview Day

Several of you have asked what the difference is between the Saturday One Day Sale and the preview day on Friday and the answer is…NOTHING! I’m not sure why Macy’s does it this way. I suggest going in on the preview day if you can to get the absolute best selection (just make sure to go in the morning so you can take advantage of the doorbuster deals too).

During the summer or holidays, Macy’s will occasionally have their One Day Sales mid-week, with the sale itself on Wednesday and the Preview Day on Tuesday.

A Macy’s One Day Sale can happen right in the middle of the week, with the preview day on Tuesday and the One Day Sale itself on Wednesday. Typically, the Macy’s One Day Sale happens on Saturday, with the preview day on Friday.

The Macys One Day Sales are usually the third weekend of the month. Stores are generally open from 9 am – 11 pm, with special doorbuster deals through 1 pm on Friday AND Saturday. Sometimes the stores will open as early as 6 or 7 am for the One Day Sale Doorbuster Deals. However, as with all sales, it’s always important to check with your own local store for hours before going.

A ton of people (including us!) register at Macy’s, so their One Day Sale is the perfect time to get your friends EXACTLY what they want while still saving a TON of money.

Macy’s normally offers free shipping and free returns anytime when you spend $99 or more, but they were offering free shipping with orders over $25 during the last One Day Sale sale. A male colleague of mine even took advantage of the savings and bought a full suit during the Macys One Day Sale for just $80 (normally $300!).
