If you’ve been shopping Macy’s for any amount of time, then you already know you can pretty much guarantee you’ll find a Macy’s sale on any given weekend. But how do you know what weekend is the best weekend to shop at Macy’s?
Here are a few tips…
What Weekend to Shop Macys
While any sale at Macy’s is a good sale, it helps to find when Macy’s is advertising the “lowest prices of the season”. If you look in the fine print of their TV commercials or on Macys.com, you’ll be able to see the actual dates that make up that season (typically it’s a three-month period).
Macy’s One Day Sale
Macy’s hasn’t had their One Day Sale as regularly as they used to, so it’s become even more important to keep an eye out for those weekend sales that might be under a different name, but still offer the same great deals and discounts we’ve become accustomed to.
In fact, it seems like lately Macy’s has foregone their one-day sale and instead opted for a 48-hour sale (which seems like the same thing to me). Typically after a one-day or 48-hour sale, Macy’s will offer a “Super Sale” on the following Sunday, which would technically mean we get to see two different sales in one weekend.
Recently, a new Macy’s sale has entered the mix: the Macy’s 2 Day Sale. How this differs from the One Day Sale or 48 Hour Sale I really don’t know since they all last for two days. What I can say is this happened over a holiday weekend, so it ran from Sunday-Monday, instead of the typical Friday-Saturday. This also replaced the Super Sunday Sale that typically follows one of the other Fri/Sat sales.
Remember, if you do find a better price within a 14-day period, you can always go back and ask for a price adjustment.

A couple of times a year, you’ll find the Macy’s Lowest Prices of the Season sale. Here are the discount codes from the last sale:

Other Macy’s Weekend Sales
You’ll also want to keep your eyes out for Macy’s weekend sales that center around weekend holidays, such as Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Even though these holidays fall on a Sunday, I will often see Macy’s extend their sale further out so we have enough time to shop and send a gift to arrive in time for the actual holiday.
