I have not departed from the commands of his lips;
I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my daily bread.

– Job 23:12

What do you do with your suffering?

Once A Day Bible Reading Plan & Devotion Day 9

Day 9 Devotion: Suffering

Where do you turn in the midst of your suffering?

Do you scoff and forget what you have been brought out of, or do you rely on and cling to those memories in the midst of that trial, believing that God will once again redeem you and your circumstances?

Suffering tends to either drive people away from God or draw them to Him.  (From the Reflection on Job 23:12)

Even in the midst of Job’s suffering, he lived on and by God’s word. Chances are, we will never experience the kinds of trials Job went through, but that doesn’t negate the fact that we will have to make the decisions he did.

There’s no doubt that we will experience trials and suffering at some point in our lives and it’s what we do when we do that truly defines our faith.
