The Church Showed Up on our Lawn {The Daily Dash: June 16, 2021}

IN MY LIFE:
Two big things happened in my life today. First of all, I got to speak on an influencer & brand panel as part of the Sivan Social Influencer Marketing Panel. I always love learning from and contributing to events like this. If a recording is made available, I’ll make sure to share it with you.
More importantly, our family was the recipient of true faith in action from our church community today.
As the work was finished on our sewer lines yesterday, the tech working on it said that if we refilled the hole ourselves, we could save hundreds of dollars and machine rental fees. Obviously, that sounded like a great idea, but it also seemed daunting for just me and the kids to tackle, especially with all I had on my plate today. That’s when he suggested making the need known to our church and youth group.
This morning, I received a text from our caring minister that she’d be showing up with some of our pastors today to help! It’s one thing to go to church, it’s another to live out what you believe and hear preached on Sunday morning. To have our senior and executive pastors came out on a hot summer afternoon to shovel dirt in a ditch meant more to us than words could describe.
I hope this reminds you to one, not be afraid to ask for help when in need and two, be willing to help when you have the chance. That’s how we can be the hands and feet of Jesus.
PRAYER FOCUS: Peace
I pray you all experience the same sense of peace I experienced today when I saw ministers from our church show up in our driveway to meet such a tangible need.
