My first full day out of the house in a week was quite eventful…

IN MY LIFE
We drove leisurely from Nashville to Chattanooga yesterday, which was nice because typically we’re always on such tight deadlines when we travel. Because we weren’t in a hurry, we decided to finally check out Rock City atop Lookout Mountain. I have two regrets: that we didn’t make time for it before and we didn’t leave enough time to take advantage of all there was to do there.
I literally thought Rock City was just a lookout spot where you can see 7 states at once. In fact, there are multiple trails with activities along the trail. Don’t get me wrong, because of my health, I’m happy we were able to drive right up to the entrance and take the “shortcut” to the vantage point…and it was stunning. I can’t wait to return with the entire family.
From there, we arrived at The Chattanoogan in time to relax a bit before dinner at their fine-dining restaurant, Broad Street Grill. I loved being able to stay within the hotel and still get a great selection to please our taste buds. My daughter loved the Caprese Flatbread, as well as the Smoked Gouda Mac & Cheese. I especially enjoyed the Wedge Salad and the Beer Cheese Fondue appetizer with Soft Pretzels.
Today we’re heading to see not one, but two IMAX movies to continue our mother daughter day of relaxation and, who knows, we might just find some more good food along the way too 🙂
