On the June 2021 episode of The Sami Cone Show I’m sharing some of my favorite things, favorite places and introducing you to one of my favorite people.

We start off today’s show by looking at some Father’s Day gifts even the kids can afford (because isn’t that how it’s supposed to be?). Plus, I’ll share some ideas for how to expand those gifts if parents and grandparents want to contribute too.

Then, I’ll be taking you to one of my favorite places in Nashville (or anywhere for that matter!), SoundWaves at Gaylord Opryland, plus telling you how you can treat the kids like royalty this summer.

Finally, I’ll introduce you to the founder of Both Hands and share not only his incredible journey, but also how you and your family can help widows and orphans this summer

So call a friend, pull up a chair and get ready to be inspired like never before because THIS is The Sami Cone Show…

Episode 22 of The Sami Cone Show aired on Friday, June 11, 2021 and re-aired on Saturday, June 12.

Father’s Day Gifts Kids Can Afford

This Father’s Day, I’m here to help you find unique gifts for dad that kids of all ages can actually afford to buy themselves! Plus, I’m sharing ideas if mom, grandparents or other family members want to help with an “Add-on” gift too.

Make sure to watch after the end of the segment to see both of my kids share unique ways they’ve made money in past summers before they were old enough to get hired by a traditional company.

SoundWaves “Must-Do” List

With the outdoor attractions of SoundWaves at Gaylord Opryland Resort finally open, I’m walking you through my can’t miss list, including everything from my favorite water slides to adult-only sections. And don’t forget the food!

Both Hands Vision Project

This year’s Both Hands Vision Project is not only the largest to date, but it honors a man who played an integral part in. our family’s lives. Learn how you can help orphans and widows alongside us this month.

Before I Go, I Need You to Ask Yourself: Does It Apply to You?

Let’s face it, not everything applies to everybody.

A deal isn’t a good deal if it’s not something you need.

Even the latest diet trend that seems to be working for everyone else might not agree with your body type.

But for some reason we tend to give more weight to the popular answer rather than the personalized one.

Likewise, when we hear negative comments we can internalize them, even if they weren’t meant for us.

Colossians 3:2 offers a unique insight in The Message translation by saying:

“Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective.”

It’s not wrong to want to take care of ourselves. In fact, it is supremely important to attend to your own physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health. However, I get concerned when I find myself or others focusing on a quick fix or fad, simply because it worked for someone else and failing to consider if it even aligns with what we know about ourself, our minds and our bodies.

We must first prioritize what we know is right and true and then measure all other words and opportunities up against that truth.

So I’m telling you right now to ask yourself one very simple question the next time you’re pondering whether to buy something, try something, or adopt something new in your life: does it apply to you?

The Lilly Pulitzer Minka Maxi Dress

Because of an unusual filming schedule I had for this month’s show, I wasn’t able to head into Lilly Pulitzer at the Mall at Green Hills for my usual try-on session. However, as soon as I looked online, I knew exactly which one of their new summer dresses I wanted to wear: the Minka Maxi Dress in Coral Spritz Beach Bungalow.

Unlike many of the Lilly Pulitzer Maxi dresses, this is an engineered fit, meaning it has a zipper and doesn’t just slip over the top of your head. It is long and flowy (I did have to hem it a bit), but otherwise fits true to size (I’m wearing a size 14).

I always love visiting my friends at Lilly Pulitzer at The Mall at Green Hills for helping me know what I’ll love both on-camera and off!

Jewelry Provided by Kendra Scott

I love the modern simplicity of the earrings, rings and necklaces Autumn helped me pick out to wear on the show this month. I’ve had my eye on the Evie Hoop earrings for quite some time, but the new version in all gold sealed the deal!

Here are quick links to all the new Kendra Scott summer jewelry pieces I wore on this month’s show:
