When we moved into our new home almost two years ago, we were excited to be closer to downtown, closer to friends and yes, even closer to Fazoli’s®.
I didn’t realize it at the time, but the move may have been a secret plot to get back to one of my husband’s favorite fast casual restaurants.
But this Italian brand is different from the Fazoli’s he grew to love during his college days.
In fact, if you haven’t visited Fazoli’s lately, you haven’t visited Fazoli’s. As of June 19, Fazoli’s food menu is now completely clean of all artificial sweeteners, flavors, preservatives and colors.
I’ll admit, I never shared the same enthusiasm for the restaurant as my husband did because ultimately, even though we enjoyed their food as a family, I didn’t know exactly what their ingredients consisted of.
But with the refreshed Fazoli’s® brand, all artificial ingredients have been removed from the entire menu as part of their 0% Artificial, 100% Delicious Naturally Italian initiative.
And it’s not just about getting rid of artificial ingredients, but making better choices through our dining. As part of their new initiative, Fazoli’s worked closely with nearly 50 suppliers to guarantee that a total of 81 artificial ingredients, colors and preservatives were eliminated from its food menu.
Truth be told, my kids didn’t know any of that before I told them. But once I did, they actually seemed to enjoy their meal more. But then again, who wouldn’t enjoy a “Giving Grape” Italian Ice, especially knowing that .50 of each drink will go to Feed the Children.
But I’m getting ahead of myself.
They truly like Fazoli’s because they know we each get a real Italian meal we know we’ll love because we can each order what we want the way we want it.
For example, my daughter loves her spaghetti with marinara and extra cheese, while my son orders his spaghetti with butter and Italian sausage.
I thought my husband bribed someone in the kitchen to put bacon on his Carbonara, but it’s actually part of the recipe. No wonder he was willing to try it over his usual Twice-Baked Lasagna.
And while I often waver between Pesto and Alfredo Sauce, I didn’t have to choose with the Penne with Creamy Basil Chicken, which features Penne with Basil Pesto covered in Alfredo Sauce, Roasted Chicken, Fire-Roasted Tomatoes, Shredded Mozzarella and Provolone Cheeses and baked.
Ultimately, I appreciate knowing that our family can come together after a long day of work, school and activities for an authentic Italian meal in a fun and casual environment. While we don’t have to wait as long as some restaurants for our food, we appreciate the time between when we order and when we have our meal delivered to our table because it means they are baking it fresh as soon as we order it, not grabbing a plate that’s been sitting under a warming dish.
Plus, that gives us time to catch up on our day and even play a quick game of cards.
And it doesn’t hurt knowing that we’re going to be taken care of while we’re there, whether it’s Fazoli’s commitment to their guests by bringing my food to me or making sure I never run out of warm breadsticks.
So whether you appreciate Fazoli’s for the value of their free kids meals on Tuesdays and senior deals on Wednesdays, or you love their fresh, fun and fast atmosphere, it’s time to visit Fazoli’s again and rediscover the food you love, but in a new way. Plus, right now you can save $3 off a $10 purchase at Fazoli’s with this coupon.
And if you hear our family laughing in the booth behind you, don’t be afraid to ask to join in our card game. Just like at an Italian table, there’s always room for more.
