Today’s youth must embrace the concept that while we may never agree with the powers that be, we must still respect and work alongside them. It’s not about being right, but about putting feet to our faith.
Without such humility comes great consequences, yet with that knowledge comes the powerful awareness that everyone can help someone by embracing their God-given gifts.
Mentor Mom Moment: When it came to finding wise words on humility, I sought out my friend Reese Dixon. Watching her talented children (American Idol alum’s Colton & Schyler) perform before a television audience of millions on American Idol could have been scary for multiple reasons, but it allowed her and her husband Mike to experience the joy that comes from raising uncommon kids.
Make it Practical: Celebrate Annual Days – Find a way to celebrate “annual days”, such as See You at the Pole or Earth day, either together as a family or as a group within your community.
