Day 16 Devotion: According to Your Faith?

Listening to the radio on my way to work recently, I heard a phrase come out of the host that was so simple yet so true. He said, “We become what we believe”. In other words, if we have impure or evil thoughts running around in our head, eventually those are going to affect our soul. However, if we dwell on things that are good and of the nature of Christ, we will come closer to resembling those things.

In Matthew 9:29 we are told that things will happen according to our faith. What does that mean? Before we can expect results from someone, we must believe they are capable of delivering those results. We must put our faith, our trust, and our belief in that person.

Do you believe God is able to work miracles? Do you believe he is able to heal the sick? Earlier in Matthew 9:22 one woman believed and Jesus said to her, “Take heart, daughter, your faith has healed you.”

If we struggle with an area of obedience in our own lives, it is often the result of lack of faith and trust in the promises of God. Where do you trust your faith? In whom do you believe? According to that belief are the results you can expect to see manifested in your own life.
