We got a double dose of Christmas lights last night…
The Daily Dash: December 19, 2017 {#Sevierville #ChristmasLights @SevierFun}

IN THE NEWS:
* Deadly Amtrak crash South of Seattle
* Patriots on top of NFL playoff race (Titans still in Wild Card spot, even after loss)
* “Oceans 8” trailer released, revealing all female cast

IN THE WORD:
My relationship to God in the first place is an inner, personal one, not an intellectual one ~ Oswald Chambers

IN MY LIFE:
After my husband and I enjoyed a leisurely morning fireside at The Lodge at Five Oaks and then jumping right across the street for some Starbucks, we headed to Dollywood for the day (right now they’re open from 11-9 during the week). Even though we’re not staying at the DreamMore Resort this time, we still get free parking because we are Gold Super Passholders (as well as 20% off most food and shopping inside of the parks).

It turned out to be a perfect day because the weather was lovely and the crowds were quite light compared to what they’ve been in the past. The only disappointment is that we missed their new show “It’s a Wonderful Life” because the theater filled up before we could get there (I’ve been told you need to line up about 45 minutes in advance). And stay tuned to my Dollywood Insiders page to discover where you can get a special mail stamp on your letters from inside the park: https://insiders.dollywood.com/author/samicone/

After dropping the boys off at the hotel, Kariss & I did some shopping at Tanger Outlets before heading to Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland at Smokies Baseball Stadium. We expected to stay for about ten minutes and instead found ourselves enthralled for at least a half an hour. We even parked the car two separate times just to watch the wonder of it all. It was far beyond our wildest imagination; truly magical!

It’s $25 for a carload to experience the lights (more if you are visiting in a limo or tour bus), but you can pick up $2 off coupons for the light show at Tanger Outlets – plus once you arrive at the Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland in Sevierville show – your event program includes an offer to get a free Tanger Coupon book!

Hope you make it a great day!

Disclosure: The Lodge at Five Oaks is providing my family with two room nights in exchange for an honest review. As a Dollywood Insider, I’m provided with season passes for my family. It’s my pleasure to partner with companies I love to give you insights you might otherwise not get access to.
